The Model 20 Polaroid camera “Swinger” was one of the Polaroid Company’s most popular models produced between 1965 and 1970. It was a relatively inexpensive instant camera, which helped the growth of its immense popularity and made of it one of the most sold cameras of all time. Its success came mostly among the American youth, due to its low price, elegant appearance, and the catchy “Meet the Swinger” jingle sung by Barry Manilow on a televised commercial featuring Ali MacGraw.
The “Swinger” had an exposure meter linked to the aperture, that displays the word “yes” in a small window under the viewfinder when the exposition has been correctly set up; includes an AG-1 incorporated flash; and used film roll, making it the first Polaroid film to be developed outside the camera.
